Yard Worker

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Lumber Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of building materials, but we are willing to provide training for the right individual. This position involves handling lumber and other building products, assisting customers, and maintaining an organized, safe yard.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload lumber and building materials from trucks and customer vehicles.
• Organize and stock inventory in the yard and warehouse.
• Assist customers with locating and loading products.
• Operate forklifts and other yard equipment (training provided).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Perform regular inspections of inventory for damage or quality concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of building materials preferred, but will train the right person.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. regularly.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 7 AM–3:30 PM (1/2 hr. lunch) (hours may vary based on delivery schedules).
• Environment: Outdoor work, exposure to weather; yard and road conditions; heavy-equipment operation.
